Day trip to Cameron Highland

One Saturday we went for a day trip to Cameron Highland. It has been years since we went. The road is so winding. I would not go again for a very long time.

Happy to be out from the car

 This was our first stop. We are just feeling so happy to reach the top and we stop for snack. No wonder so many people here because this is the first stop.

 We ordered some strawberry ice cream and strudels.

 Of course Cameron is full with beautiful flowers. Their strawberries are cheap too.

Amber's first birthday

 On Saturday we celebrated Amber's birthday, her actual birthday is on 10 July. Amber is one happy girl on that day. She was so happy going around playing with all the older kids. She is the youngest one there. She was so tired till she fell asleep while drinking her milk.

She has been playing with her car non stop for 2 days straight till i put it in the store room. She is one lucky girl.

Home cooked food

Western food is much easier to cook compared to chinese food. Usually my western food would be salmon. Hubby and I love to eat salmon. No matter what way you cooked it, it will turn out good.

Roast chicken leg. Marinate chicken with salt, pepper and soy sauce and bake for 20 mins.Corn from can and salad as the side. Carrot was roast together with the chicken.

Baked Dory fish. Season the fish with lemon, salt and pepper. Bake it for 15 mins with brocolli and sausage too. SUPER DUPER EASY. Top it with mustard after that

Pan fried salmon with teriyaki sauce. This will be on another post.

My version of shepard pie. This will be on another post.

My home made island supreme. I bought premade based. Spread tuna, thousand island and crab meat on top. Finally put the cheese and baked it till you are satisfied. Took me around 25 mins.

Xuan Xin Restaurant

Xuan Xin restaurant is one of our favourite to go for Chinese meal. They served a variety of dishes and our favourite is the sweet and sour fish. They do have set meal that is worth for your $$ . Set meal includes 3 dishes, soup and rice. They do not include water in it. I think they should include chinese tea in the set meal. In my opinion set meal is created so that customer do not need to think what to eat/drink. Don't you think so?

This restaurant is my hubby's favourite. He is so crazy about it till we went to Bangkok and eat it there. Since it's originally from Thailand.

Upgrade to fried rice if you do not want the plain rice. The sauce is brown colour and you need to add in garlic, lime and cili padi. To me their sauce is the selling point.

Grill your meat on the copper while the cabbage will be at the bottom with soup.

Steamboat at home

Nowadays I will do my own steamboat at home instead of eating out at the All You Can Eat steamboat . Reason being it is cheaper and I can buy better quality ingredients. Doing steamboat it's so easy. I just boil the chicken based soup, I add in chicken bone, lots of onion, carrot and tomatoes and boil it for 4 hours. After that if we feel like having tom yam soup based, I will add in the tom yum paste. The meatball or fish ball we will choose from the variety selection sold in the market. Total cost with fish and prawns are just RM25 for both of us. Eating out will cost RM20 per person at least. Plus this is much healthier eating at home.

 

 

On another note, I bought this for Amber at Toy's R Us. Can't wait to bring her to a swimming pool. I tried to fit this in the bath tub but can't. 

 

My first Indian wedding in India

We was invited to our first Indian wedding in India. It looks similar to the Indians in Malaysia. It's a big hall and the ceremony will be on the stage. Next room was the dining area.

 All are brothers except for the little boy is one of their son

 The different thing is everyone will queue up to take picture with bride and groom on the stage

 This was serve at the wedding. Typical Indian vegetarian food.

We were given a coconut each to bring back. Hehe

Day10 USA

Day10
After breakfast we head towards Nigeria falls. It was a long journey but we could sleep in the bus. along the way the scenery was beautiful. We did past by Amish area, they do have tour on Amish, next time I will probably take that.

After a few hours drive we reach Nigeria falls.

The view is so breathtaking. How nice if there is a cafe to enjoy the view. They do have restaurant though.

After that we head towards 1000 island

It's called 1000 island because last time they have that many island there. But now it's more than that. On the island there will be houses. Like this one .. how I wish i could stay there.

I don't think i dare to stay at this house. It seems to be the smallest house here, that's what the guide said

That's the last tour in our itinerary. Such a sad moment, I was enjoying it so much that I did not want it to end.
